Many of my art pieces are created using old doors • Doors that have been painted with many layers of paint and naturally weathered • Doors that have been opened and closed an infinite amount of times • Showing their age with dents, marks and crackled paint • Many people have entered to be inside and warm or moved on and exited through them • Many stories they could tell • Repurposed now to carry on • Often I leave the imperfections, hinge slots, knot holes or door knob spots visible in my work
